The usage of hydrogen generated from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, has stirred extraordinary interest in recent years. Potential applications include the substitution of natural gas in a wide variety of industrial processes, production of fertilizers, and CO2-neutral mobility. Large hydrogen projects are under implementation across Brazil and in many other countries. This session will explore the economics of green hydrogen and give an overview of the global market for this new commodity.

I joined the Elecnor Group in 2008 as responsible for development investments projects in Brazil with expertise in all phases of projects. Executive with +15 years of professional experience working in the renewable and infrastructure industries in a Spanish-Dutch multinational company (Elecnor and APG) from electricity sector (generation and transmission) and ESG principles for sustainable growth experienced intensely in the last 7 years. Camila Ramos has 20 years of experience in the Latin American renewable energy sector. She is founder and CEO of CELA Clean Energy Latin America, supporting clients in developing investment projects in renewable energy (solar, green hydrogen, wind and energy storage) in Latin America including: fundraising, project finance, market intelligence, policy and legal framework analysis and M&A. Camila is currently a member of the Board of Directors and Vice-President of Investments and Green Hydrogen at the ABSOLAR (Brazilian PV Association) and member of the Board of FIESP (Coinfra - Federation of Industry of the State of São Paulo). She has a BSc. and MSc. in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Prior to founding CELA, Camila served as Brazil Country Manager and Head of Latin America Research and Analysis for Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF), responsible for the company's operations and team in the Latin America and Caribbean region. She also served as Marketing and Communications Manager for ERB - Energias Renovaveis do Brasil, a Brazilian renewable energy company that substitutes fossil fuel for renewable energy at large industrial clients, as Research Coordinator for Infinity-Bio Energy, a Brazil-based bioenergy company and as Senior Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr Toro has over 19 years experience in leading international teams advising Governments, Industries and International Financing Institutions and Donors on Green Hydrogen and Decarbonisation. He and his teams has directly advised the Federal Ministry for Economics and Climate Change in Germany (H2Brasil and H2Uppp), The GIZ, The Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy on Hydrogen and the Colombian, Peruvian and Mexican Ministries of Mines and Energy. Moreover, several Industries in Brazil, Germany and Europe on decarbonisation and Multiple benefits of Energy Efficiency and The World Bank, BNDES and KFW on Green hydrogen and Energy Efficiency. He holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering, an MBA in resources and sustainable energy technologies and a PhD in Energy Economics and Policy from Germany especially for Innovations like Hydrogen, Renewables and Energy Efficiency.

Eduardo Tobias is a Managing Partner at Watt Capital. He is a specialist in project investment analysis, project financing, and on mergers & acquisitions of renewable energy projects and assets in Brazil. He is a cofounder and the coordinator of ABSOLAR's Green Hydrogen Taskforce. Tobias is also a visiting Professor at FGV, teaching for its Power Sector Executive Program, and author of the books 'Investment Analysis in Utility Scale PV Projects' (2021) and 'Investment Analysis in Bioenergy Greenfield Projects' (2015). He has a BSc. in Business Administration from FGV-EAESP and a Professional Master in Bioenergy from FGV-EESP.
