The course offers a comprehensive technical and economic vision of the battery energy storage sector in Brazil. The presentation covers everything from fundamental concepts and battery technologies to selection criteria based on power, energy, and life cycles. The content explores several practical applications, including solar self-consumption, peak shaving, and grid support, detailing through an electric vehicle (EV) charging station case study how the integration of photovoltaic systems with BESS can optimize contracted demand and improve financial indicators such as NPV (VPL) and payback. Finally, the course concludes that the viability of these systems depends on "revenue stacking" and a careful analysis of operational strategies to address current investment costs.
